The panel hides only after I hover the mouse over it. The right side panel is set to autohide and I use click to focus windows activation policy. The problem persist, regardless if I replicate the output of one "monitor" to the other or not. Single monitor, but the graphics card is connected in 2 monitor inputs (HDMI and DP) and the OS assumes 2 monitors. I have this problem since I was on kubuntu 18.04. │ Version : #110-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 18 12:55: │ cpuinfo: model name : AMD FX-8320E Eight-Core Processor │ cpuinfo: vendor_id : AuthenticAMD │ cpuinfo: microcode : 0圆000822 │ cpuinfo: cpuid level : 13 │ # of CPUs: 8 │ Machine : x86_64 │ Nodename : cyllene │ /etc/*ease: DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu │ /etc/*ease: DISTRIB_RELEASE=16.04 │ /etc/*ease: DISTRIB_CODENAME=xenial │ /etc/*ease: DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS" │ lsb_release: Distributor ID: Ubuntu │ lsb_release: Description: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS │ lsb_release: Release: 16.04 │ lsb_release: Codename: xenial Please email me at if you have further questions. Using an external program like bgs for setting the background doesn't cause a temporary increase in RES, but it doesn't allow transparency with windows that use it.Panel -> More Settings -> Visibility -> Auto Hide It seemed that, after a while, the RES memory for JWM dropped back to around 10MB. Update: After re-compiling later on, JWM appeared to temporarily use 15 to 300MB of RES when a background image was set. The above ones are listed, because they're the window managers that I'm familiar with using or was curious about, and because they're BSD style.īefore reinstalling JWM a few days ago, this window manager used 4 to 6MB of residential memory with optional dependencies on, and with a background image set. 10 (temporarily up to 300, after it starts)
